My Ticket to Fame and Fortune

A few months ago I attended the bachelorette party of a dear friend. When the bride arrived and saw I wasn’t with Jason, she insisted that I call him and make him come.

We were wholly unprepared for Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows.” Neither of us—as the only white people in attendance—had ever heard the song, but every girl at the party knew all of the lyrics by heart. It quickly turned into a group singalong and dance.

One girl made me stand up and sing with the group, because as a lady, this song is, apparently, “our anthem.” After listening to the song, you will agree that this absolutely is our anthem.

How excited was I to find that “Bust Your Windows” will be featured in an upcoming episode of “Glee?” Now, white people everywhere will know this song. (I’m sure that there are many, many hip white people who are already fans of this song, but my scientific poll of 4 people on AIM proves that there are plenty who have never heard it.)

“Glee” is going to bring this song to the awkward masses. Enjoy!
